Barcelona is not short of web agencies. vueloIV has been one of the small ones since 2006, and staying small is a choice rather than a phase we are trying to grow out of.

We take on few projects at a time. In practice that means the person who draws your site is the same person who codes it, and the same person who picks up the phone two years later when something needs changing. No account manager sits in between, and nothing is handed down a chain.

Every site starts on a blank page. We use no themes, no page builders and no ready-made block libraries. Each layout is drawn for the project it belongs to and then built on WordPress with custom blocks shaped around how that particular team actually writes and publishes. The aim is simple: once we hand it over, the client can restructure a page or launch a new section without calling us first.

Most of our work sits in culture, publishing and higher education. Festivals, theatres, university research groups and editorial houses, with a smaller share in hospitality and architecture. Over the years that has meant Cruïlla Barcelona Summer Festival, the four Grup Focus theatres in the city (Romea, Goya, Condal and La Villarroel), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, ICREA, Editorial Casals, Combel, Wok to Walk, Hotel Silver and the architect Lola Domènech.

Two things come as standard here rather than as paid extras. Accessibility: we design and build to WCAG 2.1 level AA and the European Accessibility Act, and we audit before launch instead of patching afterwards. And multiple languages: most of what we ship runs in Catalan, Spanish and English, so the structure allows for it from the first wireframe rather than being retrofitted.

We also stay after the launch. Around thirty client sites currently sit under our maintenance plans, covering updates, security, backups, performance monitoring and the steady trickle of small design and development jobs that any living site produces. Several of those clients have been with us for over a decade.
