Documented Policy Violations: Using Verbsz Almost Destroyed Our 19-Year-Old Business
After hiring Verbsz for SEO services (Dec 2023 – Sept 2024), our business suffered a catastrophic 90% decline in web traffic, plummeting from 30,000 to roughly 300 daily visitors. We paid over $61,000 for their services, only to have them implement "black hat" tactics - including keyword stuffing and over 200 "doorway" location pages - that directly violate Google’s guidelines. These practices have been penalized by Google since the early 2000s, making Verbsz' use of them particularly egregious. Despite their Google Partner badge, they ignored fundamental SEO best practices, leading to severe penalties that contributed to us laying off 1/4 of our workforce and nearly shuttering our 19-year-old treatment center. We have since had to completely rebuild our website and overhaul all of our SEO to recover. Their negligence in servicing our business is paired with dishonesty in how Verbsz chooses to operate their own business and marketing, as their "US-based" presence appears to be virtual offices, with their actual operations appearing to be based almost fully in India. Their social media also shows patterns consistent with paid engagement services. Similarly, they have 1,783 locations listed on their website https://www.verbszmarketing.com/locations/. As they do not have 1,783 offices (besides a few virtual offices, most of their location pages link to the city itself not an actual address), these operate as doorway pages for their own site, as they are all the same exact page, just with a different location listed. This looks like spam to Google, and rightfully so, because it is merely to help Verbsz rank for more locations - not provide value to searchers. To add insult to injury, Verbsz links our website on each of these doorway pages. This forces us to disavow their spammy backlinks in order to avoid Verbsz continuing to harm our business even after we have stopped working with them. We reached out months ago requesting a resolution for the damage caused, but they have completely ignored our communications. If you are a business owner, you are best served to take your business elsewhere. Stay far, far away from Verbsz.
