Thoughtful is a boutique software engineering and management consultancy that works with startups to launch tech products and improve engineering processes.
Chris founded Thoughtful in early 2019 after spending a decade working as a software engineer in the tech industry at growing companies in NYC like Teachable and Simon Data. Chris is a full-stack software engineer with both breadth and depth of knowledge that is rare and important in getting ambitious technology projects off the ground.
Thoughtful has a two-tiered approach to technology: first, we believe in leveraging open source and SaaS platforms as much as possible to reduce the amount of code that a company must build and maintain. Second, we believe that software can be the custom-built, competitive edge to a company and that it should be built and architected to be robust, maintainable, and resilient.
We encourage our clients to use platforms like Heroku, Firebase, and AWS for infrastructure, RevenueCat, Stripe, and Chargebee for subscription management, and Metabase, Mixpanel, and Segment for analytics. A significant portion of our time is spent advising clients on setting up and integrating solutions like this so that the engineering team can focus more of its time on the company's core area of competency.
Once we've narrowed down our focus to building high-quality software, we work with you to manage the scope of your project and ensure that your investment in technology will go as far as possible.
