Tandem Design Lab built my company, High Country Activities, an activity booking service for the high country of Colorado, a custom booking App. I work with over 50 small businesses, making their reservations. These include for the summer, Adventure tours, ATV and Side-by-Side rentals and tours, bike rentals and tours, boat rentals and tours, brewery tours, dog sledding, fishing, horse back rides including cattle drives, jeep rentals and tours, mine tours, mountain biking, mountain fun parks, paintballing, paddle boarding, rafting, rock climbing, train rides, wagon rides, water shuttle, and zip lining. For the winter months activities include brewery tours, cat skiing, dog sledding, fishing, horse back rides, ice skating, lift ticket purchase advice, Nordic and snowshoe center activities, ski and snowboard lessons and rentals, sledding, sleigh rides, snow bike lessons and rentals, snow coach tours and scenic cat rides, snowmobiling, tubing, and zip lining. Many of these activities are offered by numerous companies in different locations. With all of this variety, the App had to cover the details of many vendors and all of their options. The activities needed to be interfaced with the guest data, and at the same time produce an event specific confirmation, and vendor booking reports. Needless to say this was a complicated process, and required a lot of coordination, attention to detail, and creative solutions to relevant requirements of reservations and vendors, as their unique specifications warranted. As a team we worked through ideas and solutions, mostly by Zoom meetings. The immense amount of vendor and activity data had to be easy to add to the App. The entire process took about six months. The App was ready to use by the busiest summer ever experienced by the owner of High Country Activities, The ease of booking and interfacing with various vendor web booking systems, made it possible for one person to maintain the business levels presented. Guests were treated to instant confirmations with all of the details of their reservations. The billing system was flawless, and resulted in more timely invoicing and payments of earned commissions. It was also easy to use the site for statistics regarding business volumes. Tandem Design completed the project by setting up a reasonably priced and efficient hosting application for the system. The cost of this extremely specific App was very reasonable. The Tandem Design team was an easy partner in this time consuming, lengthy, and challenging project. If you have a need that is very much "outside of the box", then this team will certainly be able to fulfill your needs. I certainly could not have succeeded in the ever-changing environment of the 2020-2021 Covid 19 winter season. The system was very easy to update with constant adjustments to schedules and pricing, due to pandemic restrictions. Extra vendors, necessary because of capacity restrictions on existing partners, who filled their reservations very quickly, were also simple to add. I cannot thank Tandem Design enough for taking my company into an efficient and totally appropriate digital system, that covered all my needs for a custom booking App. I hope you enjoy the video examples of the practical applications of this system.
