Sispyme is a software house founded in Asturias, northern Spain, in 1983. Forty-three years later the same idea still holds: a small or medium company should not have to change the way it works to fit a program.

In practice that means we build the system around the process, not the other way round. A machine shop that quotes by the part, a haulier that closes the day by route, an engineering firm that lives on work orders: each one gets software that matches how it actually operates, starting from a product already running in that sector and adjusting it, in phases, beginning where it hurts most.

We work on two platforms and have done so for decades. IBM i, which most people still call the AS/400, runs the core systems of companies that have relied on it for twenty or thirty years. We keep those systems alive, document what is inside them and extend them with web portals, mobile apps and dashboards without touching the core. Velneo is where we build new applications for Windows and Linux, including our sector ERPs: Matrix for manufacturing, plus the transport, engineering and construction lines.

Everything is done by the same team: analysis, development, rollout, training, support and, when the client needs it, the hardware, the network and the shop-floor data capture as well. The difficult part is not subcontracted.

We also take on systems nobody else wants to touch. When the developer who wrote an application has retired or closed down, someone has to read that code and take responsibility for it. That is a good share of our work, and the reason clients stay with us for decades.
