A fintech company approached us to design a new platform focused on fund management for senior citizens. Given the demographic, the core challenge was to create an interface that was intuitive, highly readable, and easy to navigate, ensuring that users could manage their finances without frustration.

The key objectives were:
✅ Simplified navigation – Minimizing cognitive load and ensuring smooth user flows.
✅ Readability – Optimizing typography and layout for aging eyes.
✅ Upfront information display – Presenting critical financial data clearly.
✅ Brand-aligned aesthetics – Incorporating green and orange while maintaining accessibility.

Challenges & Approach

1️⃣ Balancing Information Density & Clarity

Senior users need quick access to essential information but can feel overwhelmed by cluttered screens.
We conducted usability tests to determine the optimal amount of data to display per screen while keeping interactions minimal.

2️⃣ Enhancing Readability

We selected Poppins font, a modern, geometric typeface that offers clarity.
Implemented larger font sizes with increased line spacing for easy reading.
Ensured strong contrast between text and background, especially for key financial figures.

3️⃣ Optimized Navigation

Designed a simple, predictable menu with large, tap-friendly buttons.
Used step-by-step flows to guide users through complex tasks, such as fund transfers.
Integrated voice and icon-based assistance for users who may struggle with reading.

4️⃣ Color Accessibility & Branding

While the fintech company’s brand colors were green and orange, we ensured accessibility by selecting contrast-friendly shades.
Used green for confirmations and positive actions, orange for warnings and calls to action.
Implemented a high-contrast mode for users with visual impairments.
