Multi-site NFP providing Aged & Community Care services in remote location was experiencing significant connectivity issues with aging on-premise PABX deployments. The project brief included:

Configuration of secure, resilient, cloud based VoIP PABX service
Enable non-blocking outbound calling (previous system was limited to 4 outbound lines at site A and 8 at site B)
Provide cross-site call functional routing with IVR
Integrate with existing DECT infrastructure
Integrate with existing Nursecall alerting
Integrate with existing door intercoms and access control
Enable access to telephony features for remote workers via mobile app
Provide Time of Day call routing with escalation of call presentation
Deploy central, web accessible dashboard of key call stats
Maintain existing In-Dial ranges and extension allocations

Onsite deployment of the 80+ handsets was undertaken in a per-site staged manner (new handsets installed alongside existing handsets) allowing for full user testing and training prior to cutover of in-bound call routing and removal of the old handsets.

DECT integration utilised a series of ATA gateway devices from Grandstream minimising the changes required on the DECT infrastructure while providing the DECT handsets with full access to the cloud based VoIP facilities.

Nursecall integration utilised direct DECT serial interfacing, again, minimising required changes to the existing (working) infrastructure.

The deployment team faced several onsite challenges during deployment, these ranged from a site wide power failure (weather related), to faulty network cabling and inaccurate network diagrams. While these challenges impacted on final completion date, they had no impact on service delivery across the client as work-arounds were available at all times.
