The Project Challenge

The client came to our SEO experts in a state of panic: their web pages had disappeared from Google's index, calls had stopped, and the business was losing profit.

Error #1: Organic Traffic Vanishes

The client was bewildered as the organic traffic on their website had completely vanished. The root of the problem was obvious: they had launched a new, aesthetically pleasing website to replace the old one, but they didn’t consider that the URLs would change. As a result, traffic disappeared.

Solution

We restored the website to its previous state. However, by that time, the pages had fallen out of Google’s index. To recover, we used link building and purchased backlinks to boost the site's visibility.

Error #2: Contact Information Duplication Leads to Google My Business Ban

The client returned again, reporting that calls had stopped. After reviewing the situation, we confirmed that the site’s rankings were intact.

Just before the issue occurred, the client had launched an identical second website. Upon review, we discovered that the contact information on the second site was identical to that on the first. This duplication triggered a ban from Google My Business.

Error #3: Misaligned Geolocation and Irrelevant Client Calls

Although calls resumed, they were coming from clients located too far away. LA FixIt typically serves a 50 km radius, but they were receiving service requests from 200 km away, making it unprofitable to transport large appliances.

Upon analysis, we found that the Google My Business ban had caused a misalignment in the service area.

Current Actions: Resolving the Google My Business Ban

We are currently working to resolve the Google My Business ban. This process involves completely replacing the contact information on the second site and submitting an appeal to Google to correct the geolocation issues and restore the company’s local business presence.
