Marathon Kids (MK) is a dedicated digital solution focused on improving the quality of life of future generations. The platform allows communities to encourage the participation of children in a myriad of sport-related activities.

Not only does it put advanced technologies at the service of children's well-being, but it is also entirely free for all involved members, such as kids, parents, teachers, and organizations, nurturing relations between members of communities.

The idea rose in 1995 when Kay Morris began reading reports on the rise of child obesity and its close relation to the lack of exercise amongst the youth. Several studies state that the first ten years of life can change long-term commitment to physical activities, yet only 20% of kids reach the desired one-hour daily exercise.

To share her love for sports with younger generations, Morris got in touch with the ISD of Austin, Texas. While expecting 200 kids in the project's first year, over 1.600 got on board, with over two million kids involved in the +25 years of the project.

To expand the idea of a healthier lifestyle, we had to consider factors like goal measurement, involvement levels, and safety-based precautions. Our team built a solid structure with data storage and metric tracking to ease commitment, adding profiles for each type of participant while highlighting MK's values like fun and freedom.

Nowadays, MK is a responsive platform that combines advanced technologies in a practical, intuitive, UX-focused way. As a result of our hard work, the platform won the Best Emerging Technology Solution of EdTech Awards in 2021. Further, it guarantees excellent service on each person's daily road to a healthier life.
