- I am very glad that a company can be VERY IMPRESSED with my skills and application after SUBMITTING NOTHING They have just thanked me for my application and said that, after reviewing it, they don't feel I am suitable for the project but they were impressed with my general skills. Everything looks great on paper (website, application process, and prospects). I have never worked for them, but have done two tests (unpaid, but that's not the point). Those two tests were the same ones and, upon their reviewing, things started to smell fishy - they don't give feedback, just a general email. Yes, I asked for specific feedback, but I only got the name of the mistakes, not the mistakes themselves, no tracked changes... Nothing. I was told that's the only thing they could tell me. Anyway. I got "invited" to another test translation and I confirmed I was going to do it. Of course, I didn't do it... Just wanted to see what happened.
- I can only suspect the good reviews come from Quill employees. As a freelancer, I had a really nasty experience with them. Avoid if you respect your own and other people's work.
- Very poor experience with Quill. I responded to 2 potential jobs. Submitted free of charge, test pieces of 300 words on time. One is still pending review although the published delivery date was 25 November! The second one - test failed - no feedback or even a courtesy email with this information. This is not what I call a professional, respectful communication.
- Sadly not the best experience with Quill. They approached me through LinkedIn to offer me work editing product descriptions for a major high street retailer. But first I had to go through the (lengthy) application process and do their editing and writing tests (which took me over an hour!) I didn't expect this as I assumed they were a recruitment agency not a content agency subcontracting work. They then sent me numerous emails saying they were migrating platforms and I'd have to reapply etc. This was highly annoying! I had to re-register for ANOTHER platform, and wondered if I'd have to retake their test. I was told no, but waited 3 weeks to get any kind of proper feedback and find out if I got the role. Ultimately I was rejected with a brusque, non-personalised rejection email - not even an email from my contact. I find this surprising as I've been an editor and writer for years and pride myself on my abilities. I've since heard from others that they pay their writers low rates but can't verify if this is true or not. Don't think I'll be recommending them to other writers and editors!
- Quill team is responsive and supportive! They care about the clients as well as the content creators. I enjoy working with them!
