We have been using Joel House SEO for over a year now with great results. We changed our business branding/website 12 months ago, so we needed help to regain Google's trust in our rankings again, as we had previously been a high ranking business/website. I wanted to write an honest review about my experience with Joel House. We started our journey on the wrong foot by being sold unachievable results by a team member who is no longer with them. I understood this can happy and a subsequent discussion with Joel lead to a goal of doubling organic website traffic. Ambitious but achievable (I liked this). 12 months have now passed, and we have decided to part ways with Joel House. It was purely about the numbers and doing what you say you are going to do. We were promised content creation, 500-800 words on select keyword pages. I saw none. We were promised SEO Title and Meta Description updates. We were asked for our Google Ads account login to cross check what may have been working there. I saw none. We were promised technical SEO and site optimisation. Now I know it is hard to measure this, but subsequent site analysis has shown lots of technical problems with the site still. We were promised a dedicated link building campaign. We have achieved an increase in links but given our continued low domain authority score I would debate the authority of those links. Considering the numbers. In the first six months of our journey our organic search volume increased by just over 2%. Hardly stellar and given the amount of content I personally added to the site this is very underwhelming. Over the 12-month period we saw an increase in traffic of 21%. This was in parallel with an estimated increase of organic search of 50% due to Covid and the increase in online shopping. A far cry from the 100% goal. I guess the final straw was the performance of our major keyword. We started the journey in position 11 and 12 months later remain in position 11. Given our spend of close to $30,000 we are well and truly in the red. As a non-for-profit organisation this has greatly affected our charitable donations moving forward as we work to re-coup this loss. Now I can only surmise why performance was so poor. It is either our money was taken, and little work was done, or Joel House are off the game when it comes to SEO. I wanted to give this review as SEO is an expensive outlay and choosing the right company can make or break a company. Hopefully, this review will assist you in making the right choice.
