Covenant Desk builds software for financial companies in Hong Kong, with a particular focus on lending.

We started in 2026 with a single client, a licensed money lender whose operations ran on tools that had never been designed to work together. Rebuilding that business's day-to-day systems taught us how much of the work inside a small lending company goes on moving information between places rather than on making decisions. Everything we have built since comes out of that.

Today we do two things.

We publish our own platform, Covenant Desk Lending, which handles a loan end to end: enquiry intake from the web, email, WhatsApp or a spreadsheet; identity verification including ID capture and a liveness check; sanctions and PEP screening; the lender's own eligibility and scoring rules; a human approval step; agreements produced from the lender's own templates and signed electronically; then repayment schedules, arrears work and collections. Groups running several licensed entities get one borrower record and one audit trail across all of them, with affordability calculated on a borrower's total exposure rather than entity by entity. The platform keeps its own database, so it can take data out of an incumbent system instead of depending on one. It is in paid production today and manages more than 17,000 borrower records.

And we build to order. Onboarding, approvals, payments and reconciliation, collections, compliance operations, reporting, staff and customer portals — the pieces a finance business needs that no packaged product quite covers. Some clients come to us for a single workflow and stay for the platform; others never need the platform at all.

Artificial intelligence sits across both as an assistant, not an authority. It will answer a question about a portfolio and show you the records behind the answer, read a credit file and say where each figure came from, and lift structured data out of documents and email. What it does not do is decide. Approvals belong to a named person, and the system records who that was.

One boundary we state plainly, because our clients are regulated and their auditors ask: we are a software supplier. We do not lend, we do not hold client money, and we do not make credit decisions. Those stay with the licensed business, where they belong.
