Posting for anyone considering applying here. Make sure to check glassdoor as well to get the full picture as this is only my opinion. First tried contacting Bixly to find out a little about the company before putting in an application. They said they will contact after reviewing my application. I thought this was odd but put it aside and sent in my application. They emailed me, IIRC it was almost 2 months later as I had already forgotten the application, to schedule a phone interview 2 days later. I took it as I had nothing to lose and was not working on any specific job atm. The phone interview went well and the lady said the next step was to do a coding test. I asked how long it would take the average developer. She said 5 days for mid-level and 2-3 days for senior-level developers. This seemed odd as well so I took to reddit and asked other developers in the field if this long of a coding test was normal - given they already had my github. All the responses on reddit were in the ballpark of, "If they expect you to spend this long on a coding test then you can expect the same from them as a company." as well as things like "Just do 2-3 hours of work and tell them they can get a picture of your skills in that time. Anything over that is unreasonable and you will end up regretting it if they don't hire you." Against some of the advice I took the coding test, knocked it out in about 8 hours (about 1 day). It was a Django REST API and a simple JWT auth. They then said i passed it and i later got a report of notes on my coding test. The main thing that stood out was the word "competent". They then scheduled an in-person interview for prior to Christmas. When they scheduled the in-person interview they said their employees would be going back to work in the office January 4th and if I would be fine with that instead of working remote. This again was odd as it was Dec 2020; mid-pandemic. My feeling, as well as many other developers I've talked to, was that this is one type of position which should go remote during a pandemic. Again, besides my better judgement, I agreed as i figured maybe it would change and i also didn't want to say no to what they asked of me. At the in-person interview they said I would be contacted January 4th - after winter vacation. Waited until January 20th and emailed the person who told me this in the interview. Its now January 26th and I never received a response. Not interested in the position anymore but thought I'd share my experience as it might help someone else.

These guys keep emailing me about bugs in software and I don’t have anything to do with that stuff. Just another company spamming my email.

Just another web development chop shop. Think long and hard or risk being taken for a long, painful and expensive ride.
