AthenaRun is a Frankfurt-based AI engineering studio. We design and ship autonomous multi-agent systems and vertical SaaS for mid-sized companies across Germany and the DACH region the kind of businesses that run on lean teams and can't afford software that looks impressive in a demo but breaks in production.

Our focus is narrow on purpose: AI that does real work. That means agents that research, decide, and act with the right human checkpoints built in not chatbots that just talk. It means automation that quietly removes the repetitive steps eating up a team's week. And it means products shaped around a specific industry or function rather than generic tooling bent to fit.

A few examples of what we've built: a CFO intelligence suite combining financial planning, Monte Carlo simulation, and peer benchmarking; multi-tenant RAG knowledge assistants for associations and training organizations; a B2B outbound engine with Slack-based human approval; and EU AI Act compliance tooling for companies preparing ahead of enforcement.

We work mostly in Next.js, FastAPI, Supabase, pgvector, and PydanticAI, with OpenAI and Claude under the hood. The deeper differentiator is how we build: we automate large parts of our own engineering pipeline, which lets a small team deliver production systems on timelines most agencies reserve for prototypes.

Three things define how we operate. First, mid-market fit we speak the language of our clients and build for its constraints, not a Silicon Valley budget. Second, speed without shortcuts fast delivery never comes at the cost of reliability or compliance. Third, agent-first engineering we architect around autonomous agents from the start rather than retrofitting AI onto old patterns.

Operating inside the EU, we treat data protection and AI governance as foundations, not afterthoughts.
