Interview with Sherry Khan - CEO at Anideos

The video production industry is one of the pillars of content marketing and the tech industry among others. Probably there’s no brand that would have reached the current stage without using video content in their marketing campaigns. Considering that Anideos is one of the best video production teams in the United States, we are happy to learn more about the challenges and opportunities video production companies face.

In the spotlight today we have Sherry Khan, the CEO of Anideos,

Hello Sherry, Please tell us about yourself. Your childhood, education, up to professional development, and how did you come to the current stage?

I’m an artist at heart. It has always intrigued me what a small piece of art can accomplish and the amount of creativity and thinking that goes into it. Speaking of my childhood, the learning phase of my life began pretty early. I began traveling at a young age and explored many cultures and traditions that eventually broadened my views and helped me develop diverse insights. Since coming abroad, I have never turned down a work opportunity. Truthfully, there have been many challenges and blowouts along the way, but I’ve got no regrets; all those molded me into the person I am today.

I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a degree in International Business Management. So, I started my professional career as an entrepreneur and business analyst. However, fascinated by industry trends and my passion for growth, I founded Anideos with the drive to portray my love for animations and illustrations. And since then, I’ve been on a never-ending quest to improve professionally and personally.

As the CEO of Anideos, please tell us more about the agency, the team, and the work processes

When founding Anideos, my goals were quite straightforward – to build a creative agency that blends animation and development in the most beautiful form. Anideos is a place where an artist's craft is respected, and the developer's code is appreciated. As one of the USA’s leading companies, we have years of professional experience creating one-of-a-kind animated videos, including 2D, 3D, motion graphics, and more. Apart from the video industry, we’re not behind in embracing tech innovations. We also create future-proof mobile apps and websites.

As the CEO, I have taken my time to build a team of devoted people from scratch – those who are passionate, patient, and willing to go the extra mile to achieve fruitful results. I believe our quick work processes and turnaround times have given us a competitive advantage over others serving the same clientele. We take pride in that our crew of innovative minds reduces production time without sacrificing quality, enabling us to provide outstanding services at a rate and scale that are unmatched in the sector.

From 2D animation up to NFTs - Anideos does them all. In the long run, which of your services seems to be more perspective, and which risks falling off the market? Why?

Well, it’s difficult to predict with certainty which one of our services will be more perspective in the long run and which ones may fall off the market. From 2D/3D animation and motion graphics to NFTs and many more, each service’s potential for growth or decline is likely to depend on technological developments, changes in user preferences, and economic conditions.
However, if I have to name one, I’d say 3D animation. We have all witnessed the tremendous growth of 3D animation in recent years due to the rise in virtual and augmented reality technologies. As these technologies become more mainstream, the demand for high-quality 3D graphics will also likely increase.

Besides, today 3D animations are being widely used in the film, video game, architecture, medical, and entertainment industries – and there is no indication that these fields will slow down anytime soon. As long as there is a need for visually engaging content, 3D animation will continue to play an essential role in the creative industry. Likewise, the team at Anideos is dedicated to evolving the animation industry with creative solutions by learning new things each day.

As with the risks for being less evident in the near future, it has to be NFTs, as there are a few risks associated with their sustainability. The primary concern is the potential for a bubble hype-driven market, where prices for NFTs are driven more by speculation than by the underlying value of the digital assets, leading to a market crash and a loss of investor confidence in the long run. There’s also a risk for the potential of over-saturation in the market – when more and more artists and creators begin to sell NFTs, it could lead to a dilution of the market and a decrease in the perceived value of NFTs.

What video marketing platform would work best for IT companies? And where they should not advertise their visuals?

The ideal video marketing platform for IT companies would be LinkedIn, followed by Twitter and Facebook. A combination of these three platforms would work best for IT companies to showcase their offerings, reach the right audience, and drive engagement with their content. In my opinion, the key here is to understand your target audience, analyze where they spend their time online, and direct your efforts toward that specific platform. Besides, you should mainly focus on getting your brand listed among the review and listing sites.

On the other hand, IT companies should avoid advertising their visuals on platforms geared toward younger audiences and not typically used for B2B marketing.

AI is getting more popular across multiple industries and sectors. Did it reach the video production industry as well? What is the current impact of AI on Anideos activity?

Yes, AI has made significant inroads into the video animation industry as well and is being used to automate and modernize many aspects of the production process. AI technology impacts animators’ activity by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks, helping them create complex and realistic animations in less time and cost.

So far, there’s not much impact of AI on Anideos’ activity, but we look forward to making the most out of this technology soon when AI models like Firefly come out. Firefly will be used to create animatics, giving animators a more accurate representation of how the animation will look and feel. This way, animators will be able to identify issues and make adjustments before the final animation comes out. Overall, AI tools like Midjourney and Firefly will both give animators more creative freedom.

Imagine that Bezos, Zuckerberg, Musk, and Gates want to work for Anideos. Which one would you choose? Why?

I would want to work with Mark Zuckerberg, considering that under his leadership, Facebook has grown to over 2 billion monthly active users and has become a top player in the digital advertising market. Working with him will come with many perks. For example, as a video company, we can capitalize on the massive amount of data from Facebook and Instagram to optimize our content and target specific audiences based on their age, gender, interests, and location. The data will also help us streamline our marketing approach and help us grow our brand on social media.

Favorite dish and Favorite movie

I love desi food, so my favorite dish has to be Chicken Biryani. Besides, there are a lot of movies in my favorites list; nonetheless, I'll single out The Matrix.

If you had the chance to go back in time, what advice would you give to Sherry Khan from 2013?

The one little piece of advice that I would like to give to my younger self if I could travel back in time would be that in the end, you only get paid higher for doing what you love – so stand tall and don't lose hope in your art.

Thanks for this insightful interview, Sherry. Like always, it has been a pleasure to have you share parts of your professional life and thoughts about animations, trends, and business development! I'm sure that our readers would find this article informative. Wish you all from Anideos good luck with your projects and a fruitful upcoming 2023.
