As for the talent pool in Karachi, the Pakistani National Labor of Statistics mentioned that there are over 300,000 tech professionals in 2024. 

According to Glassdoor, the base pay for a software engineer in Karachi could reach up to $9,995 per year, which makes it one of the most affordable cities to hire tech professionals. 

Another interesting fact about the IT industry in Karachi is the amount of money raised by startups in 2024 and 2025. Pakistani startups, including those in  Karachi, raised $42.5 million in 2024 through VC funds. In 2025, the Karachi Educational City Special Technology Zone received 100 million euros for future innovations.
